Fred Thompson v. Michael Moore (KNOCKOUT)

Fred Thompson has issued a video response to Michael Moore over the Cuba issue. It has made me a fan for life of Senator Thompson.

Just a bit more of Fred Thompson on Michael Moore and Cuba that I found over at Colorado For Thompson. Go over there and read all the Thompson quotes. They are really good.

You might have read the stories about filmmaker Michael Moore taking ailing workers from Ground Zero in Manhattan to Cuba for free medical treatments. According to reports, he filmed the trip for a new movie that bashes America for not having government-provided health care.

Now, I have no expectation that Moore is going to tell the truth about Cuba or health care. I defend his right to do what he does, but Moore’s talent for clever falsehoods has been too well documented. Simply calling his movies documentaries rather than works of fiction, I think, may be the biggest fiction of all.

[The Rest of the Story]

While this PR stunt has obviously been successful — here I am talking about it — Moore’s a piker compared to Fidel Castro and his regime. Moore just parrots the story they created — one of the most successful public relations coups in history. This is the story of free, high quality Cuban health care.

Castro is now personally worth approximately $900 million. So when he desperately needed medical treatment recently, he could afford to fly a Spanish surgeon, with equipment, on a chartered jet to Cuba. What does that say about free Cuban health care?

Update: I mention Fred Thompson and my little blog which has a handful of readers gets inundated with hits. Guess there must be some interest in Senator Thompson out there!

And in related news: Cuban law students held a mock trial today and found the United States guilty of decades of terrorism. I’m sure Michael Moore is thrilled (heck he was probably down there giving evidence).

  1. I LOVE IT! Mr. Moore is such a self-rightous @SS!- & his “documentaries” are ponderous & meandering tripe. By the end of “Bowling for Columbine” I didn’t know what the heck he was on about – something to do with blaming Dick Clark for the shooting in Michigan of one grade schooler by another because his restaurant chain didn’t pay the shooter’s mother enough per hour (!!??).

I can’t wait to see his latest project. *sighs and rolls his eyes*

Michael Moore took affront at former Senator Fred Thompson’s criticism of Moore’s recent trip to Cuba and in reply challenged Thompson to a debate over healthcare. Thompson then answered in turn, saying he didn’t have the time to debate Moore,

  4. You bash Moore, but you still pay to see his work. I think you want to give yourselves reason to be annoyed, but hypocrisy is the same no matter what color you paint it. The litigation concerning Healthcare in America is asinine, as is the corporate stranglehold that exists here in every facet of American life. People who bitch and moan about someone trying to make this country a better place should be hanged for treason. And on that note, I don’t trust anyone who calls themselves a politician, and especially if they are known as an Actor. Both professions are simply liars for profit.

  5. Sorry, Intelligent, but I’m not a hypocrite. I would never pay to see Moore’s “work”. He paints himself well enough in the press to show what he is.

What Michael Moore tries to do is not make this country a better place. He propagandizes to make himself a fortune.
